If an emergency arises after normal office hours or on a weekend, the Camp America Duty Officer can be contacted through our emergency answering service at 800-727-8233. Please note there is only one Duty Officer on call each night and weekend. The Duty Officer will be one of the Camp America staff members. Please refrain from paging the Duty Officer unless it is a true emergency so their time can be devoted to those who really need it. Camp America provides the following services for participants who experience emergency situations such as family emergencies and medical crises.

We have taken extensive measures to enhance our preparation to deal with crises at camp involving our international staff. These include:

• Designating a crisis team that is trained, experienced and ready to respond in any emergency situation.
• Establishing relationships with embassies and consulates to improve communication and cooperation.
• Instituting an overseas emergency response network for participant families.
• Formulating specific procedures in a crisis plan.
• Engaging a comprehensive travelers' assistance organization, Team Assist, to supply services in the most ciritcal of crisis situations.
